Tip 7 To becoming a successful Artrepreneur

Artrepreneuring with the Mazeologist Warren Stokes

Tip #7. Create art everyday: Artists create period.  And artrepreneurs create everyday.  Your art is your product and if you hope to survive from your art you must have an inventory.  Imagine if you went to a store and they told you to come back in a couple of months when they finish making the widget that you wanted?  Would you wait or go to a competitor?

About two years ago I challenged myself to create a piece of art for a year,  and created all 365 pieces.  Although did it to get better at my craft, the benefit is that my inventory is massive and could keep me fed for years to come without creating a new piece.

So make sure that you have several pieces that are priced and ready for sale so that when your work takes off you don’t end up selling it all.
